Annual golf day drives funds past the £23K mark for The Emaan Foundation

A recent charity golf event has given a substantial boost to funds for The Emaan Foundation’s latest fundraising Appeal - which aims to build a Health Centre in Pakistan.

Scores of keen golfers teed off for an afternoon of birdies, bogies and eagles at Teesside Golf Club, based on Acklam Road in Thornaby, and at the same time successfully raised a grand total of £3880 for the charity – bringing the grand total to £23,880.

Delighted with the amount raised, Nas Khan OBE, founder of the charity and managing director of North East-based Jennings Motor Group, said; “The event, which has become an annual occasion on the charity’s calendar, was a phenomenal success.

“On behalf of The EmaanFoundation, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the event, in addition to those who have contributed towards the cause - we simply couldn’t do it without the on-going, kind and generous support from everyone.”

The latest Appeal aims to build a health centre for the people living in Rahim Yar Khan, an area affected by devastating floods in 2010.

Continuing to work inconjunction with international aid organisation, Human Appeal, the charity’s first fundraising appeal raised £120,000, which built an entire new village consisting of 60 homes, complete with livestock and clean drinking water for the people of Rahim Yar Khan.

The construction of a new health centre will help those people living in the village who currently have to travel hundreds of miles to receive basic medical treatment.
