Donation boosts charity’s fundraising drive

The start of 2014 has boosted a leading local businessman’s charity, thanks to a generous and welcome donation.

Nas Khan, managing director of north east-based Jennings Motor Group and founder of The Emaan Foundation, was presented with a cheque for the sum of £2438.65 from one of the company’s major suppliers, Autoclenz.

The donation is as a result of the Derbyshire-based Autoclenz retaining 1% from every invoice raised throughout 2013, to Jennings Motor Group.  The supplier has also pledged its support throughout 2014.

Paul Rawson, divisional manager from Autoclenz, said; “Over the years, we have built good working relationships with both Nas and the many staff he employs across Jennings Motor Group’s branch network in the north-east.

“We are delighted to be able to make the cheque donation and we will continue support Nas and his charity in the future.”

In addition to being responsible for one of the region’s longest established motor dealer groups, over the past three years Nas has been devoting his spare time to fundraising for his charity, which was set up following the devastating floods in Pakistan in September 2010.

Nas Khan, said; “I am absolutely delighted with the donation, which is greatly appreciated and taken fundraising a step closer to our overall target of £120K, which is contributing towards building a new village consisting of 60 homes, livestock and a deep tube well for clean drinking water, for the people of Rahim Yar Khan, south of Punjab.

“The recent donation from Autoclenz has boosted funds past the £105K mark, which is fantastic.”

It’s not just the people of Pakistan who Nas is supporting, following the recent Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, he decided to kick-start another appeal and fundraising drive in order to help survivors of the catastrophe.  Any donations made to the charity for the Typhoon Haiyan Appeal are being donated to Oxfam.
