Pakistan-born Nas Khan, has topped the £60K mark in his fundraising drive to raise money for flood-stricken victims in his home country.
For the past three months, Nas, who is managing director of Jennings Motor Group, which operates five Ford, two Mazda and a SEAT dealership across the North-East, has been devoting his spare time to raising funds in order to reach his £120,000 target.
The funds, which are being raised through a charity called the Emaan Foundation set up by Nas in 2006, will contribute towards building a village for the people of Rahim Yar Kahan, south of Punjab.
“We’ve achieved our first objective which was to purchase a batch of essential lifesaving aid in the form of LifeStraws and now we are focusing on our next and biggest goal, to build a whole new village which will consist of 60 homes, livestock and a deep tube well to provide clean water,” said Nas Khan.
Members of the public are being reminded about the latest fundraising drive which involves one lucky winner driving away in a brand new motor – a Ford Ka 1.2 Studio, three door model, worth more than £9000.
Tickets for the grand Ford Ka Raffle are £50 each and only 300 have been printed, so people are being warned to be quick off the mark if they want to
be in with a chance of winning the new motor.
Nas added; “If anyone is interested in purchasing a ticket for the Ka Raffle, they need to get in touch soon, before the official draw, which is scheduled to take place in January 2011.”
To buy a ticket please contact Bev Stephenson on 01642 209113.
Alternatively, tickets are also available by contacting any Jennings dealership at Middlesbrough, Stockton, Sunderland, Gateshead and South Shields.
