A local businessman is appealing to his staff and members of the public to support his charity by donating items of unwanted clothing.
For the past 12 months, Nas Khan, managing director of Jennings Motor Group which operates Ford, Mazda, SEAT and Kia dealerships across the region, has been raising funds for his charity, The Emaan Foundation.
The aim of the charity is to raise £120,000 which will contribute towards building a new village in Rahim Yah Khan, south of Punjab, following the devastating floods last year.
To date more than £80,000 has been raised, which has enabled work to start on site. On completion, the village will consist of 60 homes and a deep tube well, in addition to livestock to make the village self sufficient.
The latest clothing appeal fundraising initiative is expected to boost funds and take the charity a step closer to its fundraising target.
Nas said; “We are urgently appealing to members of staff and the general public to donate any items of unwanted clothing, shoes, bags and soft toys which will be recycled to raise money and boost funds for the charity.”
Jennings Motor Group’s branch network across the region is being utilised as drop off points for the charity.
If you would like to do your bit for charity and donate any unwanted items, please take them to any Jennings branch located at:-
Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough; Yarm Road in Stockton; Riverside Road in Sunderland; Newcastle Road in South Shields; Eslington Park in Gateshead and Parsons Road in Washington.
The deadline for any unwanted items of clothing is Monday 3rd October 2011.
